Permanent signage is one of those things that looks simple until a council rejects it, a sign maker prints it wrong, or a driver misses it and ends up on your liability. We handle the whole chain — design, manufacture coordination and installation — so the sign that goes in the ground is the sign that was approved.
What we design, supply and install
- Regulatory signage to NZTA/MOTSAM standards — speed, give way, stop, no stopping, parking restriction and warning signs specified from the Manual of Traffic Signs and Markings, so they're enforceable and defensible.
- Wayfinding signage — directional systems for subdivisions, business parks, campuses and large commercial sites, designed as a system rather than sign-by-sign.
- Subdivision street-name blades — street-name signs to council specification, coordinated with the roading and civil works programme so they're in before titles issue.
- Development entrance signage — entrance and identification signs for developments, industrial sites and commercial properties — custom-designed, engineered footings, properly installed.
- Private road signage — speed, parking and rules signage for private roads, right-of-ways and body-corporate sites where MOTSAM-style clarity matters even though the road isn't public.
Manufacture is coordinated with certified NZ sign makers — we specify, they fabricate to the standard, we install. No courier-delivered signs left leaning against a fence for your builder to guess at.

Signage and consents are two different things
Worth stating plainly, because it catches people out: most road signage needs only the road controlling authority's approval, but larger advertising and billboard-style signs can trigger district plan rules and need a resource consent — a completely different process from making and installing the sign.

Frequently asked questions
Do permanent road signs have to meet a standard?
Yes — regulatory and warning signs must follow NZTA's MOTSAM (Manual of Traffic Signs and Markings), which sets the symbols, sizes, colours and reflectivity that make a sign legally enforceable and safe. Non-compliant signage on a public road gets removed; on private roads it creates liability when something goes wrong. We design to MOTSAM and coordinate manufacture with certified sign makers.
Can you make custom signs, or only standard regulatory ones?
Both. Standard regulatory and warning signs are specified from MOTSAM. Custom work — development entrance signs, wayfinding systems, subdivision street-name blades, private road rules signage — is designed to sit alongside the regulatory environment without imitating it, which matters: a custom sign that looks like an official one can be ordered down. We design custom signs that are clearly yours and clearly legible.
Do I need a consent for signage?
Sometimes — and it's a different process from the sign itself. Most road-corridor signage only needs the road controlling authority's approval, but larger advertising and billboard-style signs can trigger district plan rules and need a resource consent. That's a separate service: if your signage project strays into consent territory, our resource consent support team handles the application.
Do you install the signs as well as supply them?
Yes — design, manufacture coordination and installation as one job. Installation in the road corridor comes with the approvals you'd expect: corridor access and a TMP where the work affects the road or footpath, run by the same team that designed the signs. On private sites it's simpler, but posts, footings and sign placement still get engineered rather than guessed.
