- Fixed-scope quote. You know what it costs before we start. No open-ended hourly surprises.
- We deal with council. We prepare, lodge, respond to RFIs and chase the decision, and we tell you the moment something changes.

Do I need a resource consent?
It depends on your site and your project. Anything that breaches a Christchurch District Plan rule, including setbacks, site coverage, parking, earthworks volumes or a change of use, usually triggers one. Overlays like flood management areas catch people out. Send us the site address and what you're planning, and we'll tell you before you spend money on drawings.
How long does a resource consent take?
The statutory timeframe is 20 working days, but real-world Christchurch City Council processing for a non-notified consent runs about 20–35 working days. Selwyn and Waimakariri typically take 25–45. If council sends a Section 92 request, the clock stops until you respond, which is why a complete first application matters.
What is a CAR and when do I need one?
A Corridor Access Request is permission from the road controlling authority to work in or occupy the road corridor: the road, footpath or berm. Trenches, vehicle crossings, scaffolding and even skip bins on the berm all need one. In Christchurch it's lodged through MyWorksites, and it won't be approved without a traffic management plan.
Do I need a TMP, and what does it cost?
If your work affects traffic, pedestrians or parking in the road corridor, yes. The cost depends on the risk category, road type, duration and complexity. A simple TMP can cost a few hundred dollars, while multi-stage works on busy roads can run into the thousands. Our guide to TMP costs in NZ gives honest ranges.
